  1. shahram nikrow says:

so many postponements , it’s hard to make heads or tails out of tables , would have been better if final round was delayed by one week to allow postponed matches to be played . reading news on syria and Fide president keeps popping up , unless you have a death wish do not play this man !!

  2. leon fagan says:

finally i get my wish to play gm john burns

  3. shahram nikrow says:

Leon fagan vs john burns = Draw , when an irresistible force meets an immovable object = DRAW

  4. GM John Burns says:

Agree about the number of postponements making a farce of the final round. Particularly unfair to the controller. I don’t think people should sign up for a tournament if they cannot commit to either a Thursday or Monday for those six weeks. Weekend tournaments wouldn’t be treated with this sort of attitude.
But hey, at least I get to play last year’s champion. This will only be a draw if there isn’t sufficint mating material. Even then….

  5. mjdkennedy says:

The postponement problem this year is largely the result of the new champions league format in LCU cup competitions and not the fault of players. This has meant more cup games in a short period – each team has played 3 cup matches in the last 4 weeks, which of course has interfered with our usual club championship slot immediately post-league season. The disruption was unforeseen but we’ll have to consider this for next season.

  6. John Burns GM says:

Ah right, fair enough. We may have to consider moving part of the club championships to later in the year, or even playing two rounds a week..

  7. leon fagan says:

i agree with john maybe playing the club champship later before the leagues start maybe an idea for 2 reasons firstly no disruption ie does not clash with other team events and secondly it will sharpen players for the upcoming league season giving us a slight advantage over the other rival teams in various teams.worth considering anybody any views

  8. leon fagan says:

shahram your a genius what does your crystal ball tell you on leon v abul given the fact abul was the only player to beat me last year, i’m white give me your predition.
