Hi Fergus – yes, that’s fine. Thanks, See you in the club.

when people say ( I am sure you know or aware ) they actually mean the exact opposite they are not sure but expect the other person to know the fact , you never any one say I’m sure you know fire can burn you or that rain makes you wet ?

Tough game against jack last ,I got the sequence of moves wrong and got into trouble , should have attacked his knight then brought bishop out , would have been a pawn up then .I offered jack a draw when he had a rook + 2 pawns vs my lone rook but he insisted on playing on ,could some one please explain to him when playing a genius like me he needs to be up by at least 5 pawns before he can beat me ?

    Ennis tournament round up :

The venue was poor , It had been moved from the usual location to upstairs and If you needed to use the loo , you had to walk 1/4 mile to get there and same back, karaoke singing and music were loud and clear in couple of the rounds , in fact the floor was shaking at some stage with it. organizers were nice guys & introduced new rule there that players must make their move first before leaving the room and report suspicious activities , here another rule they should introduce , NO RUNNING in the venue , I tell you these kids wreck your head with their constant running and leaping on the stairs , warning should be given to offenders and if persists expelled or agree to wear leg shackles during games .another rule for child protection should be No alcoholic beverage should be consumed specially when playing against kids , It is not nice for a child to be seating in front of a bleary eyed stranger who is knocking back pint after pint , which I observed. Some players have a nasty habit of being late which is disrespectful to their opponent , I think any one who is more than 10 minutes late should be reported to arbiter and in case same person repeating it in the same tournament , small fine or points be deducted . I had a much better TPR (Tournament performance rating ) than the person in my band who won the grading prize , not sure what happened there and missed out on 75 euro

In other news , strange thing happened to me in Ennis . I was sitting down on a little ridge near mcdoanlds in ennis drinking tea from a paper cup which I had in front of me and this old lady walking slowly passing me bends down and drops something into my cup !, I look down into the cup to see what this crazy woman has dropped into it and it’s a … 50 cent coin ! , it took couple of seconds to realize what happened and my first instinct was to go & tell her ,she is mistaken and give back her money then I think that will embarrass her, so I say thank you loud and faint response comes back , you’re welcome !. Guess I should wear a suit and a tie next time drinking tea near mcdonalds ?!

  5. leon fagan says:
