Congratulations guys! Great individual performances from Rathmines players Michael Higgins 6/6 and Fiachra Scallan 3.5/6. Also, well done to Scott Mulligan on securing board 1 for Ireland in the U-14s, gaining valuable international experience.

Just looking at the photo of junior chess team meeting the president of ireland, parents are well dressed as they should be , but the kids are dressed as if they came to play 5 a side football ?!!.

I had to take a second look at the photograph of irish president meeting junior chess team( link in the post above ) as I felt the photo did not look right , on examining photo the photographer is standing to the right where he is supposed to be standing and taking the photo at an angle and only a minority of the crowd are looking at his/her direction and most are looking straight on .This is just pure speculation but I think most of the crowd are looking at the official photographer , but in top right hand of photo you can see a very bright day in the window and I believe the official photographer took a photo from where he was supposed to be standing in the centre but the bright window would fall directly behind the crowd and as a result either crowds faces appears too dark or somehow the official photo was ruined and they had to use this unofficial photo or did the official photographer take this photo as well from this angle ?, , also why some of the men are wearing black ties ? . when I was a teenager I wanted to be a private detective instead of a lousy chess player but as years go on sometimes life just hands you one disappointment after another .
